Dr. Shalu Pal, OD, FAAO, FSLS, FBCLA
Dr. Shalu Pal graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry, completed her Contact Lens, Cornea and Disease residency at the Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry followed by her Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry. She has her Fellowship in the Scleral Lens Society. Dr. Pal is a current candidate for her Diplomate in the American Academy of Optometry in the area of Contact Lens and Refractive Technology.
Dr. Pal was a member of the faculty at NSUOCO from 2005 to 2007 and at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry from 2007 to 2009. Dr. Pal is currently in a group practice in Toronto, Canada, where she specializing in two areas. Advanced Contact Lens Fitting for corneal repair post-trauma, disease, pain and high prescriptions. The second is Dry Eye management and treatment with advanced technology and innovative treatment protocols.
Dr. Pal is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, and a volunteer of the Ontario Association of Optometrist’s Continuing Education Committee. Dr. Pal is also a member of the American Optometric Association, Chair-elect for the AOA Contact Lens and Cornea Section Council. Dr. Pal is a member of Vision Source and an Administrator for the Greater GTA area. Dr. Pal is a faculty member and speaker for Allergan’s Optimize and Jump Start programs. She is a member of the Women’s Advisory Board for Alcon USA. She is also a speaker, writer, and consultant for Allergan, Alcon, Bausch & Lomb, CooperVision, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Menicon America, Santen Pharmaceutical and Shire. Dr. Pal a speaker for the STAPLE Program, which facilitates 45 contact lens workshops across North American Optometry Schools annually.
Dr. Pal has been published many times in various academic journals including the Review of Optometry, Contact Lens Spectrum, Optometry Times and Advanced Ocular Care.
Dr. Pal was a volunteer doctor for the Pan Am and Para Pan Am Games and is affiliated with FUDEM, Eye Care Specialist in San Salvador, El Salvador where she volunteers on a regular basis.
Dr. Pal grew up in Saint John New Brunswick. Since relocating her family to Toronto she has enjoyed learning new things including how to ride a motorcycle.
Dr. Pal loves what she does and enjoys helping others, educating patients students and colleagues and most importantly bringing sight to her patients!
Dr. Debby Yeung, OD, FAAO, FSLS
Dr. Debby Yeung received her Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Biomedic Science at the University of Waterloo. She continued on to Boston to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from New England College of Optometry, where she graduated cum laude and as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa National Optometric Honor Society.
After graduation, Dr. Yeung completed a residency position in Cornea and Contact Lens at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science, where she continues to supervise and teach in the Contact Lens Clinic. She guest-lectures in the third year Contact Lens Course and is an instructor for the course’s laboratory component. Dr. Yeung is also an educational consultant for Valley Contax.
With a focus on specialty contact lens fitting, Dr. Yeung divides her time between private practice and clinical research. She is currently pursuing her Master's in Vision Science. Her research interests include the interaction between scleral lenses and the ocular surface. She has presented at numerous meetings in North America and in the U.K. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is pursuing her Fellowship with the British Contact Lens Association and Scleral Lens Society.
Finally, Dr. Yeung is fluent in English and Cantonese and is conversational in Mandarin.
Dr. Shirley Blanc, OD, FNORA
Dr. Shirley Blanc obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Honours Science at the University of Waterloo, then went on to graduate with a Doctorate of Optometry in 2001. She has years of experience working in laser surgery centers providing pre- and post-operative care, and in private practice catering to patients of all ages including services such as children exams, single vision, and multifocal contact lens fittings, and utilizing the latest technology for early screening and monitoring of conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration.
In recent years, she has placed a particular interest in treating patients with traumatic brain injury due to the need for optometric intervention as a vital component of a post-concussive health care team. The skills and education she has obtained through an extensive array of specialized courses and certifications in the field of Neuro-Optometric Vision Rehabilitation, as well as her experience with post-concussive patients, has enabled her to provide individualized solutions with research-supported strategies for patients with Post-Trauma Vision Syndrome. Dr. Blanc incorporates a multi-disciplinary team-based approach, with consideration of vision as an interactive component with other systems in the body. She frequently collaborates with other professionals, such as Sports Medicine and other Physicians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Chiropractors, and Osteopaths. She has also conducted speaking engagements to educate health professionals about vision and concussion and has volunteered with the Canadian Optometrists in Vision Therapy & Rehabilitation.
Dr. Avani Dave, OD, FAAO
Dr. Avani Dave received her Bachelor of Science degree with Honours from McMaster University. She then was awarded the Presidential Scholarship to attend the New England College of Optometry where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry. During her time there, Dr. Dave was an elected member of her student council board, actively volunteered in local and international vision clinics and graduated as part of the Beta Sigma Kappa National Optometric Honor Society. Her clinical training included community health centers in Boston, private practice in New Hampshire as well as the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami.
After graduating, Dr. Dave completed a residency in Cornea and Contact Lens at the New England College of Optometry. She was able to focus on specialty contact lens fitting and managing corneal disease through her training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Boston Foundation for Sight, Boston Medical Center and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. Dr. Dave became very passionate about teaching and since then, has presented at several meetings on a local and national level. She hopes to continue to merge her interest in specialty contact lens and education through giving back to her Optometric community.
Dr. Dave is a clinical faculty member at the University of Buffalo’s Ross Eye Institute. Furthermore, she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is currently pursuing her Fellowship with the Scleral Lens Society. She is also a recipient of the Johnson and Johnson Vision Care Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care.
Born and raised in Mississauga, Dr. Dave is fluent in Gujarati and Hindi. She thoroughly enjoys traveling, music and is a Professional Indian Classical Dancer.
Neelu Pal, B.Com
Hey there, I'm Neelu and I am the director of operations at Dr. Shalu Pal and Associates. I completed my business degree at McMaster University and have more than a decade of experience in business management.
My sister, Dr. Shalu Pal, and I started this practice together in 2009 and have been working together ever since. My role is to ensure the smooth day to day operations of the clinic and to make sure you have the best possible experience. My goal is always 100% patient satisfaction! If there is ever anything I can do to help you please do let me know.

Sarah Shou, B.A.
Hi, I’m Sarah! I am one of the optometric assistants in the office. I am here to help in any way that I can from greeting you on the phone, connecting via email or helping in person.
I am the coordinator for Dr. Blanc’s Concussion and Vision Rehab Clinic. I also work hard to keep the office and our team members very organized. I’m always running around helping out and am happy to help you in anyway that I can.

Denoshaa Jey BHSc, LDO, OC(C)
Hi, my name is Denoshaa and I am one of the opticians in the office. I have over 10 years of experience in the field of Optometry. I've developed a passion for eyecare and its impact on everyday life; where I am continuously keeping up to date with new technology and research to help provide you with the best vision! We can explore our optimal lenses to match your prescription and have some fun with our vast array of frame selection in the office - frame styling is one of my specialties!

Woof Woof, my name is Charlie! Welcome to our Practice! I work with my Mom and my Aunt, I used to come to the office every Friday but now I'm retired and only work on special occasions.
